Let me be the first to say that I’m an advertising person.  The business side of newspaper is what I know best.  When a colleague posted this link to a story regarding the changes being made at the Orange County Register I was intrigued. While many other papers across the country are moving to digital-first, they are doing just the opposite.

Since we had Rob Curley, (their managing editor) speak on campus at the beginning of our study, I thought it was relevant to share more information about what they are doing out in California.  It’s a different idea-one we haven’t really seen before in the newspaper world, but there might be something to it.  Read the link and decide for yourself.  It may not be the answer for us, but it’s worth discussing.  I’d love to know what you think, so comment away.  Your opinions are important to us.  That’s why we’re doing this, so thanks in advance!
